Education
Courses in analytical chemistry at Stockholm University

The Department of Analytical Chemistry offers a number of undergraduate courses in the field of modern analytical chemistry. The courses cover both theoretical and experimental aspects of these fields. Our teaching staff are all experienced researchers and provide the necessary expertise to advance students' knowledge of analytical chemistry, from the basics to the most up to date techniques.

Whether you come to us for just a single course or the full Master Programme, we will do our best to make your studies rewarding. Keeping with the tradition of Swedish higher learning, we provide a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Basic Courses
Our basic course Analytical Chemistry I (information in Swedish only) and Analytical Chemistry II (information in Swedish only) aims to provide basic theoretical and experimental understanding of the steps of the analytical chain, from sampling through extraction, sample clean-up, separation, identification, quantification to data evaluation and presentation of results. Diploma Work at Basic Level is a 15 credit course performing the BSc diploma work in analytical chemistry. Contact Conny Östman by mail or by phone 08-6747196.
These courses is given in Swedish only

Advanced Courses
The department offers a number of advanced undergraduate courses in the field of modern analytical chemistry. Current courses are Advanced Separation Methods, Mass Spectrometry, Chemometrics and Bioanalytical Chemistry.
These courses are given in English

Diploma Projects
A Diploma Project is for many students the culmination of academic endeavor. At our department, this course can to a great extent be tailored to the individual student. In general, there are always projects - often within our research projects - waiting for students, but it is also possible to create a specific project taking into consideration the interests of the student her/himself. More information can be found here.

Master Programme
The Master Programme in Analytical Chemistry is a two year programme of advanced courses giving a solid foundation for either a career as a professional analytical chemist, or further studies for a doctoral degree.
